VaultSnip is an open-source tool that automatically masks or replaces sensitive data like names, emails, and amounts in screenshots, dashboards, and app views. Running entirely on-device with zero network requests, it lets you fine-tune masks or generate synthetic replicas for instant, private sharing to chats, tickets, and slides.

I kept redacting dashboard screenshots by hand before sending them to clients, so I built VaultSnip. Everything — OCR, masking, the AI checks, the replica — runs in your browser tab. No upload, no account, no key. It's measured, not promised: on the published test set ~0.25% of sensitive-text area stayed readable, which is exactly why the app makes you look before you copy. Free and Apache-2.0. Ask me anything.
For anyone curious how the on-device pipeline works, I wrote up the technical details: I ran two OCR engines and a BERT model entirely in the browser — here's what I learned - DEV Community
