👋 Hi everyone! I’m the solo developer behind VAKKA. The idea didn’t come from trying to build a startup—it came from being frustrated. Over the years, I downloaded more than 20 expense-sharing apps. Every time I traveled with friends, lived with roommates, or organized group activities, I kept thinking, “This app is great… but I wish it also did this.” Some were too simple. Some were too complicated. Some looked great but were frustrating to use. None felt like the app I actually wanted. So I decided to build it myself. For the past months, I’ve been working on VAKKA during my evenings and weekends, constantly testing it with friends and improving it based on real situations rather than assumptions. A simple way to add receipts directly from a photo would be amazing, with the app auto-reading the total and splitting items by who ordered what. Most groups lose track of paper receipts on trips, so this would save a lot of manual entry.

@kamil295722 Thanks, Kamil! I completely agree, that’s one of those features that can make a huge difference in real life. It’s actually why VAKKA includes receipt scanning already: trips are chaotic, receipts get lost, and nobody wants to manually type every item.
