9 free UK-focused tools: Gas Mark, shoe size, VAT (10 countries), live currency rates (ECB), length, weight, area, volume, temperature, speed. No ads, no tracking. Most conversion sites are US-centric. UK tools are scattered everywhere — I wanted one clean site for everything a British person actually needs. 100% browser-side — nothing touches a server. No cookies without consent. No personal data ever. Built with Astro + React + Tailwind, hosted on Cloudflare Pages.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built UK Convert out of sheer frustration.
Every time I needed to convert Gas Mark to Celsius for a British recipe, or figure out UK/US shoe sizes, I ended up on ad-heavy US-centric sites that didn't understand British conventions. So I built the site I wish already existed.
🔒 Everything runs in your browser — nothing touches a server 🍪 No cookies unless you consent 💯 Free, no sign-up, no ads
It's a solo side project, so feedback (brutal is fine!) is hugely appreciated. Thanks for checking it out!

Love that this is browser-side with no tracking, exactly how it should be. One thing I'd love to see: a clothing size converter that handles kids' sizes too, since mine keep outgrowing everything and the US charts are useless. Would round it out nicely for parents.

@keremkorni1924 Great minds think alike — someone else suggested kids clothing sizes earlier today, so I actually just shipped it! 🚀
Kids Clothing Size Chart is now live: UK Age / US / EU (height cm) / CN, covering 12 age groups from 2-3 to 13-14. As a parent myself, I know the struggle — one brand's "age 5-6" is another brand's "totally different shape." Give it a try and let me know if the sizes line up with what you're buying!

Love how everything runs client-side and respects privacy. One idea that would actually make it stickier for me: add a customisable favourites bar so you can pin the four or five tools you use most to the top of the page. Would save the click each time on mobile especially.

@n_yalc43979 That's a really smart idea — especially the mobile angle. A persistent favourites bar at the top would turn it from "visit when I need something" into "my personal quick-access panel." I hadn't thought of the sticky-ness angle but you're right: if your top 5 converters are one tap away, you're way more likely to come back.
Adding this to the roadmap. Implementation-wise it'd be purely local (localStorage, no account needed — keeping with the privacy theme). Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion!

Finally a conversion site that does gas marks without a banner ad takeover. The privacy angle is genuinely refreshing and it loads instantly since it all runs in the browser.

@sultankkal94837 Thank you! The "no ad takeover" experience is exactly what I was going for — I got so tired of closing 3 popups just to convert a gas mark.
The instant load is a happy side effect of going fully static with zero server calls. No backend = nothing to wait for = nothing to track you. Really glad the privacy angle lands — most users just accept the tracking as normal, so it's encouraging when someone notices the difference.
