So instead of a brochure, visitors chat with an AI version of me that answers only from my real work, with citations, and just says "I haven't written about that" when it doesn't know, instead of making something up. The question everyone asked next was "how do I get one?", so I pulled the engine out and open-sourced it. That's Twinfolio. The part I'm proudest of: you don't need a corpus. Most "chat with your docs" tools assume you arrive with a tidy folder about yourself, almost nobody does. Twinfolio interviews you instead, by voice or text, and writes your knowledge base from your answers. You can have written nothing and still have a citeable twin in ~10 minutes. A few opinionated choices: • No database, config + content are plain files in git. Saving commits; commits deploy. • One OpenRouter key powers both chat and retrieval. Zero keys still runs a full demo. • AGPL, free, yours - your repo, your keys, your domain. No platform in the middle. • 40 UI languages + a live theme editor with a built-in WCAG-AA checker.
