Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I’m thrilled to introduce TS-QTTabBar for the OpenAI GPT-6 Astra Challenge!
Modifying the Windows File Explorer (Shell) is normally a nightmare of crashes and COM object memory leaks. I wanted to build a modern fork of QTTabBar that not only improved stability but introduced a revolutionary feature: Custom JS/INI Widgets right inside your Explorer.
To pull off this level of deep Windows OS integration, I relied heavily on GPT-6 Astra. Astra's ability to understand legacy codebase contexts, reason through complex Shell extension lifecycles, and generate safe, sandboxed worker code was mind-blowing. It turned a project that would normally take a team of Windows C++ veterans months into something I could build and iterate on rapidly.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback! What custom JS widget would you build for your File Explorer? 🚀
