Spin the wheel. Land on Truth or Dare. Get a random prompt. That's the whole game. No signup, no app, no ad in front of the button. It loads and works. The bit I actually built it for: custom questions. Every other generator ships a fixed list you exhaust in ten spins. Here you add your own, so it fits your friends, your party, or your team icebreaker. Runs in the browser, works on a phone, nothing stored on a server. Free, like everything else on ToolsUp.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I build free browser tools at ToolsUp, and this one came out of a genuinely annoying evening.
We wanted to play truth or dare at a friend's place. Every site I opened either wanted an email address, buried the actual game under a wall of text, or threw an ad in front of the button. One of them wouldn't work at all without an account. For a game that's been played for three hundred years without any software.
So I built the version I wanted. Spin the wheel, you get a truth or a dare, that's the whole thing. It loads instantly and works on a phone so you can pass it around the table.
The part I actually care about is custom questions. Every generator I found ships a fixed list, and after ten spins your group has seen all of it. Here you can add your own truths and dares, so you can make it fit your friends, keep it clean for a family game, or write a set for a team icebreaker. Heads up that adding a custom question currently swaps out the built-in list for that category rather than adding to it. I'm changing that this week based on early feedback.
Nothing is stored on a server. Custom questions live in your browser for the session and then they're gone.
Two things I'd love input on:
1. Should custom questions persist between visits, or is the clean slate better?
2. What categories would you actually use? I'm considering preset packs for couples, teens, and work icebreakers.
Happy to answer anything in the comments.
