TruTalk - hand-written conversation cards, wrapped in a quiet ritual. Most conversation apps hand you questions and leave you there. TruTalk is different: every card is hand-written and neuroscience-informed, living inside a calm, intentional ritual that helps you arrive at depth instead of forcing it. Because depth has an order. Choose a deck - couples, friends, or teams - take turns, and let the prompts carry you past small talk into something real. Free on the web. Just open it and start.
It started with a question I couldn't shake: "why is meaningful conversation so hard to come by in a world that's more connected than ever?" - We have infinite ways to reach each other and somehow keep landing in the shallows - small talk, status updates, the same five surface questions. TruTalk came out of wanting to fix that gap between being connected and actually connecting.
Depth doesn't happen on command. You can't just sit two people down and say "be vulnerable now." Depth has an order - it needs a little room, a little permission, and a way to get there. Most tools skip straight to the deep end and it feels forced. TruTalk is about building the path: a ritual that lets people arrive at depth instead of being shoved into it.
I built the product first - the feeling, the experience, the shape of the ritual - and then worked with Maria, my in-house neuroscience expert & researcher, to pressure-test it against the neuroscience, so the prompts weren't just evocative but actually grounded in how people open up. The feeling led; the research made it real.
