Hi Product Hunters! We built Triage because we wanted to make our inboxes a nice place to be again. It's supposed to be used to quickly review and action new mail as it comes in so that you're left with a manageable load when you get to your desk. We're not replacing your main email app - just trying to take away a bit of the pain 🙃 It supports Gmail, iCloud, Fastmail and any other provider with modern IMAP, so let me know in the comments if we're missing your favourite provider. It's absolutely free to use for one account, and there's a (cheap - just $9.99 per _year!_) in-app purchase to unlock all the features. We don't even see your data, it all stays on your devices, so there's no way for us to be creepy and sell it or ads or anything horrible like that. Triage is privacy-first - check out our privacy policy for more. This a refreshed version of the really popular Triage app from way back in 2013. It's entirely rewritten using Swift UI and uses the REST API for Gmail (much nicer than IMAP). It took us a long time to put together, very much a labour of love. Feedback or suggestions are always appreciated. It's the first app I launch in the morning, and I hope it'll be useful for you all too 💖 Thanks! Nik

@nikz thanks for bringing this back! Such a simple way to clear out my inbox as I start my day.
Nik
@nickmalcolm_ Thanks Nick! Standing on the shoulders of giants here definitely :)

I'm excited that Triage is back. I was part of the original team that built and launched Triage in 2013. It was, for a time, a best-selling paid app on the App Store charts. Triage 2 has been completely rebuilt by Nik Wakelin using the latest tools and frameworks. The fresh new design is by Isaac Minogue. It’s once again the first app I open every morning. Swiping through a literal stack of emails is the most satisfying way to quickly tame an inbox. As always when building software, the real treasure is the new friends we made along the way: Swift, SwiftUI, the Gmail API & iCloud. And not forgetting our oldest and dearest IMAP. (Honestly, the more you learn about email “standards” the more you become curious about how anything in the world that depends on these works at all!) Triage 2 has a brand new business model too - it’s completely free to download and use. There is a small annual subscription for those who want to use multiple accounts and other advanced features. So, it costs you nothing to give it a try today. And please tell your friends!

@rowansimpson This app is amazing, i'm obsessed... with one huuuuge problem whyyyyyy oh whyyyyy isn't there a unified inbox. It could be so perfect...
Nik
@rowansimpson @puppycodes It's tough to do nicely in a limited UI, and complex across multiple different accounts. Stay tuned though!

@rowansimpson @nikz i will continue to pray

Looks amazing! Is an iPad app planned?
Nik
@theberrysauce definitely something I’ll look at - it’s relatively straightforward with Swift UI but we just wanted to keep the surface area small so we could really polish Triage on the iPhone.
Paul
@nikz Awesome! I‘m excited 😊

@theberrysauce @nikz I second this — iPad PLEASE! 🙏🙏
Nik
@theberrysauce @anna_0x Requests received :)

Hi, still using Triage 1. Good to see that there is an update, but i would love to have configurable actions (e.g. star, or forward to another email automatically).
Nik
@tafkaf hiya Florian! We will look at adding starring (I believe it’s just another Label behind the scenes in gmail) but auto forward is a little harder. If we do custom labels in future you might be able to auto forward like that though!
Matthew Buchanan
@tafkaf @nikz FWIW we see a lot of delivery failures due to forwarding/redirecting with our mass mail-outs due to SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Services that respect these rules (which they should) such as Outlook reject the re-sent email because the server that did the forwarding is not listed in the allowable senders list for the sending domain.
Nik
@tafkaf @mrb Yeah, for reasons like that it'd likely need to be Triage applying a label, and then a forwarding rule on the mailserver so that all those headers etc are set correctly...

Interesting concept. The familiar Tinder UI makes it really easy to adopt.
Nik
@manisha_joshi1 ha, yes it’s a common UI pattern now I think 🧐
Isaac Minogue
Hey product hunt fam! 😘 It was so great being on the team pulling this together for relaunch. We put a lot of love into the details and hope you folks love it too! P.S. let us know if you spot any easter eggs 👀
Nik
@isaacminogue Thanks Isaac, what an awesome team to get to work with! :D

I love how this doesn't try to completely replace your existing email client. Does a simple thing well to make starting your day easier.
Nik
@armstrjare thanks, I'm glad you enjoy!
