TranscribeGeek turns audio and video into text on your own machine. No upload, no file size cap, no per minute billing. It writes SRT and VTT subtitles, labels who is speaking, and works on long recordings without asking you to split them first.

Most transcription tools want your audio on their servers, cap the free tier at a handful of minutes, then bill you per hour after that. That is a problem if the recording is a client call, a medical appointment, or anything else you would rather not hand over. TranscribeGeek runs the model on your own machine. Drop in an audio or video file, get the text back, plus SRT and VTT subtitles and speaker labels so you can tell who said what. There is no length limit and nothing leaves the PC. It is free, the source is on GitHub. One honest caveat: the installer is not code signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn on first run. Would like to hear how it copes with your accents and recording quality.
