TraceDXF addresses a narrow job: turning clean black-and-white artwork into an outline with a real physical size, with the image processed in the browser and no account required.
TraceDXF takes one high-contrast JPG or PNG and traces it into a closed SVG or DXF outline. You set a target physical width or height in millimeters or inches, and the other dimension follows the traced artwork proportions. That stated size excludes blank margins and does not come from the image's DPI. The file limit is 10 MiB and 4 million pixels, with no automatic resizing.
Before you download, the workbench lets you inspect the binary image, the outer contour, holes and separate parts. The same inspected outline is used for both SVG and DXF. If a hole is missing or a part has split, you can see it before you leave the page.
Processing happens in your browser. The image, the file name and the generated geometry are not uploaded. The site uses Google Analytics and cookies for page usage and browser information; a completed download reports only the fixed output name and file extension, not the image content or the geometry. No account is required, and downloads have no watermark.
Who it fits: logos, silhouettes and clean monochrome drawings that need a known physical size before laser or CNC work. The output follows pixel boundaries, so it is not a photo tracer, it does not recover engineering dimensions, recognize text, create centerline engraving paths or fit smooth Bézier curves. Please review the file before cutting; the current scope does not guarantee a cut-ready result.
The site also has browser-local SVG-to-DXF, DXF-to-SVG and a DXF checker, plus downloadable sample inputs, outputs, size and hole checks, and a methodology page. A self-made 100 x 70 mm calibration file was imported into LightBurn 2.1.04 Core with the recorded size, holes, island and orientation; that covers one fixture, not arbitrary artwork, other software versions or Cricut.

One specific thing I would like feedback on: the size-and-inspection step. Does choosing width or height in mm or inches give you what you need, and is the hole / part inspection enough before you download, or are there checks you expect but do not see?
