Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm the maker. I built Tortoise Money because I wanted a retirement tracker that's genuinely offline. It never sat right with me to connect large retirement accounts to some third-party service just to keep an eye on them. The other reason is more of a philosophy: if you're building wealth the boring way (holding index funds), you don't actually need to be checking your balances all the time. Updating your numbers a couple times a year and seeing the bigger picture of your progress is the healthier way to do it, and that's what this app is built to do well. Two smaller frustrations pushed me too: I couldn't find one with a genuinely polished, modern UI in this space, and I was tired of every option charging a monthly subscription just to look at my own money. So: your data stays on your device, no bank logins, no ads, and no subscription (premium is a one-time unlock, not a recurring fee). Would love any feedback, especially from folks on the FIRE path.
