Devon here, co-founder of tooltrace.ai.
We originally launched Tooltrace here last year with a simple goal: make it easy for anyone to turn a photo of their tools into a custom foam insert or 3D-printed organizer, without needing CAD experience.
Since then, thousands of people have used Tooltrace for workshops, tool drawers, Gridfinity setups, 5S workstations, shadow boards, and more. Your feedback has shaped nearly everything we’ve built, and we’re excited to share our biggest update yet.
You can now:
- Fine-tune outlines for a more precise fit
- Arrange and zoom into shapes with our redesigned layout workspace
- Split larger bins to fit smaller printers
- Remove wasted bin space with Puzzle Piece Mode
- Add custom text to traces
- Undo, redo, and add simple shapes
- Discover and share designs through the Tooltrace Community
- Order finished organizers through the Tooltrace Print Farm
You can still export designs for 3D printing or laser cutting your own foam. If you don’t have the equipment, the Print Farm gives you another way to bring your organizer to life.
