TomeReader pairs the full text of free, public-domain classics with synchronized LibriVox audio narration — read along as you listen, or just listen. No account, no downloads, no cost. Search thousands of books by Austen, Dickens, Melville, and more.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built TomeReader because I kept doing the same annoying thing: opening a Project Gutenberg text in one tab and a LibriVox audiobook in another, trying to keep them in sync manually. It never worked — I'd lose my place, or the pacing would drift.
TomeReader fixes that directly: pick a classic, and the text and its matching LibriVox audio play together, so you can read along, listen while doing something else, or switch back and forth without losing your spot. Everything's public domain, so it's free — no account, no paywall, nothing to install.
A few things worth trying:
- Pride and Prejudice, Frankenstein, or Sherlock Holmes — solid audio quality on all three
- Adjustable playback speed and reader themes (dark/sepia/light)
- Browse by genre if you don't have a title in mind
This is a solo side project, so it's rough in places. I'd genuinely love feedback on what's confusing, what's missing, or what would make this an actual daily habit for you — not asking for upvotes, just your honest take.
