The Floyd Bed Frame is an innovative bed frame made to be put together easy and to be able to use it in urban living and at the same time to be absolutely durable and lasting. This minimal bed frame is built for you to love it and its simplicity.
This is only good if you're living somewhere for a very short amount of time (short term lease) but it's pretty expensive. It'd be relatively easy to build this yourself for a lot less.
@brackin thanks for the thoughts. Ease of assembly/disassembly is certainly one strength of The Floyd Bed Frame — but other reasons for purchase are that it’s very comfortable yet sturdy, produced thru high quality manufacturing/use of materials + a minimal, unique aesthetic. :)
@alexzanderod@brackin ease of assembly and disassembly is huge for me. Had to move from NYC and 100% would have kept the bedframe if it had been more mobile. Instead it was left behind, cost factor becomes more reasonable when you factor in mobility/lack of need for a new bedframe every city change.

@kylejhoff First off! Big ups to Detroit. The second best midwest city to Cleveland.
Every bed frame that I ever had was collapsable metal. It folded pretty easy to move from place to place.
I was wondering is this a replacement to the platform bed, or can you put a box spring on it as well?
@dredurr thanks for the nice words! @kylejhoff is a Youngstown native..so we have love for Ohio. :) Box springs are one of the most cumbersome pieces to move...so we preferred a platform bed that didn’t require one. Although it works with any type of mattress, it’s especially perfect for memory foam mattresses

$265 would be a great price if the wood slabs were included. What about some sort of rubberized or softened feet on the bottom?
It's a beautiful design, but I feel like there are less expensive options that are pretty close to the simplicity of the design.

I recently moved to New Orleans and held off on purchasing a bed-frame because I wasn't sure if/when it would end up in a dumpster. Though this product's pricier than typical Ikea furniture, the "life-time" value seems to make up for that, especially if you are nomadic like me.
This also reminds me of Japanese-style interior design, which I'm a huge fan of. I hope you guys think of doing low-rise desks with this! I can imagine having that bed with a low-rise desk next to it and a cushion to sit on.
@kevinsuh34 great thoughts here — it's way common to move apartments every year, yet furniture hasn't really adapted to this shift in living patterns. glad you dig it! :)

Cool idea and definitely the most minimal frame available for purchase, except for maybe free wood crates from a farm stand. After sleeping on a low-profile frame from Ikea for a few years, this does raise a few corners thought. (1) Even thought frame that extends past the mattress looks really cool, you would be banging your legs on that thing like it's your full-time job. (2) If this is just a plank of wood under the mattress, then why not just keep it on the floor and not have a frame?

First of all, I love what you guys are doing, taking on the disposable consumer mindset. Bravo! And also sparking creative thinking through your products. DIY, sharing, building experience is taking over and breaking down disposable consumerism.
I think this bed is pretty incredible in terms of design (no screws, modular, sustainable, lightweight, etc.) My only issue and something that's kept me from clicking the checkout button is that I live in a high humidity area. The one design problem I don't think this tackles is mattress breathability, since the panels are solid. Do you guys have any solutions to solving this problem? Honeycomb paneling is an amazing lightweight solution, but I don't know what happens to the integrity of the panels if I, say, drill holes in it to solve breathability. The Modernica Case Study Bed for example uses a perforated steel inserts to manage this. The price of the Case Study Bed definitely keeps me from buying that one too. Any thoughts?
