The Daily Outbid is a live, real-money front page. Startups stake cash to claim a story; rank is cumulative stake, held until someone outbids you. A stake starts at $5; passing the leader costs the gap plus 5%. Every number is public, and every day's page is archived forever. No accounts, no refunds, just a headline and a price.
Hey, I'm William, I built The Daily Outbid.
The idea: a front page where rank isn't decided by an algorithm or a vote. It's decided by who paid the most, in public, in real time. You stake to claim a headline. Someone can always outbid you. When they do, you get dethroned publicly, with a stamp on it. Whatever the board looks like at the end of the day gets frozen forever at its own permanent URL. No accounts, no dashboards. Just a headline and a price.
I'm treating this less like a SaaS launch and more like a live experiment: how much will people actually pay for a very public, very temporary spot at the top of a page? The stats page keeps a running, honest answer, total staked, clicks delivered, cost per click, the highest single bid, updated in real time.
Today's front page is empty until someone takes it. $5 gets you on. Curious what Product Hunt does to it.
