TextyFeed is the only language app that transforms real articles and news into your personal classroom. Unlike Duolingo or Anki, it combines an article analyzer, a built-in news reader, and Gemini AI to generate custom vocabulary on any topic you choose. Create flashcards, use a grammar chat, a verb conjugator, a hidden-word mini-game, and a home screen widget (Android-only), and you get a complete, distraction-free learning toolkit synced across all your devices.

I've recently started to learn Italian, and the biggest frustration I kept running into was the problem of knowing basic grammar rules but being unable to speak due to insufficient vocabulary to express myself. Beyond that, I noticed the gap between textbook vocabulary and the language as it actually appears in the real world: in articles, news, and everyday content. Most popular language apps, like Duolingo, teach you isolated words with no context, which you barely use in normal conversation (for example, I am an apple???). On top of that, many flashcard apps have a limited set of words, for example, only the top 1,000 most popular words.
I wanted to make a simple yet effective app that would allow me to learn the words I want, words that are truly relevant to me, while reading content in my target language, and would make it effortless to capture, learn, and retain new words without switching between different apps. That was the spark for TextyFeed. TextyFeed was designed for the sole purpose of expanding users' vocabulary.
The approach evolved a lot during development. I started with just the article analyzer and basic flashcards, but quickly realized learners needed more structure, so I added CEFR-leveled decks and AI-generated topic vocabulary. Then, I wanted to make learning feel less like a chore, which led to the mini-game, the Word of the Day, and the home screen widget. Grammar questions kept coming up naturally during my own study sessions, so the grammar chat felt like an obvious addition. Beyond that, you can use it just to access the AI chat and ask any questions on any topic you want without ever leaving the app. Each feature grew out of a real friction point I personally experienced, which kept the product focused and distraction-free rather than bloated. This is why we do not have any ads in the app for monetization purposes. TextyFeed offers multiple languages, including Italian, Russian, English, Dutch, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
This app is free to use, and most of the features are sufficient to provide a good study experience. If you want to accelerate your learning or just to support this app, both the monthly and annual premium subscriptions are available.
