TalkForum is lightweight community platform for building focused, niche communities - the kind of space where people actually stick around, instead of scrolling past. Every community lives inside a group: public or private, organized by category, with optional subgroups for more specific topics. Joining isn't automatic — new members request access, and the group owner or moderators approve who gets in. That one gate is what keeps a community's discussions relevant instead of drowning in noise.
Hey Product Hunt!
Zarko Nikolic (aka DayGZax) here. I built TalkForum because I was tired of "communities" that are either a Discord server with 4,000 people yelling into the void, or platforms that want to suck your soul for being in a community
So I built the version I actually wanted: small, gated communities where getting in means something, discussions that don't vanish into an infinite scroll, and a leaderboard that quietly guilt-trips you into posting more (it's working on me already).
Genuinely curious: what's the one feature that would make YOU actually stick around in a community app instead of ghosting it after week two? 👀
Roast the UI, ask me anything — I'm here all day.
