Stoa is the only place where Aristotle, Seneca or Marcus Aurelius answer from their own writings and nothing else. Every mind is built from public-domain primary sources and the testimonies of contemporaries, speaks in its own register, and knows only what it could have known in its lifetime. No invented quotes, bibliography published. You can chat in the browser (first question free), own a philosopher as a skill that runs inside your ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or commission a custom persona.
Hi, I'm Pietro, the founder of Stoa.
It started with one book. I read Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, filled a notebook with questions, and realised I wanted to ask him, not a commentator. So I built Aristoteles from his complete works and the ancient biographies. Then people asked for Marcus Aurelius, then Seneca, then Sokrates.
Stoa is that project grown up. Every mind answers only from their own writings and the testimonies of the people who knew them, in their own register, inside their own lifetime. No invented quotes; the bibliography is published with each persona. Eleven minds so far, from the Stoics to Confucius and Sun Tzu.
Three ways in:
Chat in the browser. Your first question is free, no account needed.
Own a mind as a skill: the complete persona installs into your own ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini in about a minute. One purchase, yours to keep.
Commission a figure built around your curriculum, for a classroom or an institution.
I'd love to know which thinker you'd want next, and what you'd ask them first. Happy to answer anything about how the personas are built.
