Photograph a fish and Taklbox names the species, measures and weighs it, and checks the size and season rules where you caught it. On your iPhone, with no signal.

I made this because I caught a flounder a year ago and didn’t know if I could keep it. So while I have the fish on the dock I had to pull out my measure app to get the length, of course take a picture for the memories, and then also double check the FWC app for my exact area to check the regulations. That was 3 apps and time spend on all of them where I wanted to get the fish back in the water if it wasn’t legal.
So, I made taklbox to handle that and you can know the answers to all of that in about 10 seconds, without needing signal (important for a lot of areas the fish are).
Then I just kept building adding in other useful things I have learned over the years like various knots to tie, the best baits for over 800 species, depth charts, oyster beds, and features that can track what other people are catching fish with like a soft plastic or a popping cork. I also added in a nice license tracker so you always know when to renew and stay legal, and conditions including lunar and tides data.
I have a lot more plans to continue (wind maps, navigation, and continuous gear and baits to name a few) but wanted this live so it’s available for download on the App Store today!
