I built Tabrise after trying many new tab extensions that were either too limited, overloaded with features, or eventually abandoned. It started as a personal project to create the productivity dashboard I actually wanted to use every day. Customize your new tab with modular widgets, flexible layouts, beautiful themes, notes, tasks, calendar, weather, bookmarks, and much more. Available for Chrome and Firefox.
Love that this came from someone who actually got frustrated with existing options, the modular widget setup sounds great. One thing that would make me stick with it long term is a sync option between Chrome and Firefox so my dashboard stays consistent across browsers on the same machine.
@ted_beerbohm I consider myself very patient, but keeping changing my new tab was too much for me. There is an configuration import/export option, but it's a manual one, not a live sync. I might consider the use case, I really didn't think about someone using both browsers on the same machine. Tanks for the feedback !
Finally something that doesn't force widgets on me. I was able to keep it minimal with just a clock and a to-do list, and the themes actually look pretty polished. Big fan.
@networkpro And that's exactly how I imagine it, something simple cosy, but that can be much more if you are willing to. I'm glad you like it !
Modular widgets without the bloat is exactly what I've been wanting. Spent a few minutes tweaking the layout and it already feels like my new tab actually belongs to me.
