We created Swapper with the aim of offering an alternative to hotels for business trips. Too many times I've found myself alone in a hotel room, eating a meal tray... A bad experience that costs companies a lot of money. When you consider that in more than 3 out of 4 cases, an employee knows someone in the city where he or she is traveling, you immediately think, why don't employees go and sleep at this relative's place? The answer was simple: some do, but don't want to do it too often, for fear of disturbing people. And people often say, “It doesn't matter, my company can afford the hotel”. So we thought, let's use this hotel budget to establish this practice and create a virtuous model. Allowing employees to use this budget to pay an on-site host, whether a friend, family member or colleague. If the employee chooses more economical and ecological accommodation, why not encourage him or her? That's our mantra at Swapper, to emphasize the humanly enriching experience of hosting in a private home, rather than the solitude of a hotel room. Living 1 hour by train from Paris, I use our solution every week for one or two nights. I can tell you that I prefer to give this budget to a friend on the spot to host me, plus very often they use it to make me a nice dinner. I always have a great evening, full of discussions rather than watching the evening alone at the hotel. And it's cheaper for my company.
