Sutra is a new approach to online learning that that lets you create conversational courses that generate higher engagement, completion, and peer to peer connection using AI facilitation.
@natashasell congrats on your PH launchπ
Conversational Courses totally makes sense. I much more prefer to learn with a group of peers where we can share ideas and experiences.
So is Sutra a product for learners or for creators who have some content to share?
@natashasell@umar_lateef Well, in many ways it's for both. But as a platform we provide a tool for content creators to share their content in a conversational way.
Most self paced courses revolve around content creators sharing their knowledge in a one directional way. There's no opportunity to participants to connect with each other or build some sense of shared understanding. We're hopeful this is a new channel for creators to deliver learning experiences that invite their learners to truly learn together.
As we attract more content creators, we hope we'll have an ecosystem where learners can come to find more experiences that emphasize meaningful connection and conversation.
@umar_lateef yeah, I would say it's a tool for content creators who can use Sutra to design really engaging experiences for their audience. And as Lorenz shared, the more Sutra grows, the more courses there will be available on Sutra for learnings to choose from.

Hey Lorenz, this sounds really interesting! I'm curious about how the AI engine identifies the best responses and what criteria it uses for that. Also, how do you ensure that the prompts encourage genuine conversation rather than just short replies? This could really change the online learning game.
@star_boat we've been facilitating group experiences for the last 10 years. We're bringing a lot of our understanding of group process into how we train the AI. We find that optimizing for meaningful responses is more about the prompt than the AI though. And the AI can also be really helpful and designing the prompt.
@star_boat thanks for your thoughtful question, a lot of our AI training comes from our own facilitation expertise. I'm an educator and an instructional designer and have been facilitating learning experiences for 20 years of my career. So we have certain inputs we give the AI to evaluate comments and make connections between people. Same for the quality of the prompt which is the key to engaging people in a conversation in the first place.
