Hi Product Hunt 👋 "Can you send me the files?" never ends there. WeTransfer links expire before they're clicked. Dropbox wants the other person to have an account. Email gives up at 25MB. And whatever does arrive lands in Downloads, so there is still one more step — moving it to where it was always supposed to go. Stolnk gives a folder on your Mac a web address. You send someone ryan.stolnk.com/client-a, they drop files in their browser, and the files appear in ~/Projects/ClientA/Incoming. They don't sign up, don't install anything, and don't land on a product page — just a page that takes files. Three decisions shaped everything else: 🔒 Files are encrypted in the sender's browser. What reaches my servers is ciphertext and a key I can't unwrap. I can see file sizes and timestamps, and I've written exactly what I can and cannot see into the privacy policy — against the actual database schema rather than around it. 😴 It works while your Mac is asleep. The ciphertext waits and is delivered on wake. The sender is never shown a failure for something that isn't their fault. That turned out to be the hardest part to build, and it's the reason the product exists in this shape. 💸 You pay once. $29 for the first 500, then $39. Three Macs, no subscription. That constraint shaped the architecture more than any feature did: revenue happens once and cost continues forever, so per-user cost had to be bounded by construction rather than watched on a dashboard. What it doesn't do, up front: there's no Windows version yet (waitlist on the site), you can't set a password on a link from the app yet, and there is no account recovery at all — the device key lives in the Secure Enclave and cannot leave, so losing the Mac loses the name permanently. That last one is a deliberate trade, and I'd rather you hear it from me than discover it. Free tier is one inbox and 3GB of relayed files a month — enough to actually use. I'll be here all day.
