I built StockDeck because I was tired of feeling stupid trying to research stocks.
Yahoo Finance shows you "P/E: 28.4" and expects you to know what that means. TradingView is built for active traders who already speak the language. Bloomberg is $2,000/month. There wasn't a clean, fast place for normal people to look up a stock and actually understand what they were reading.
So I built one. Over the last 8 days. Solo, with Claude as my coding partner ā I'm not a software engineer by training. The product, design, and editorial voice are mine; Claude wrote the syntax. I genuinely would not have shipped without it.
What's in it:
ā Live quotes for US stocks
ā AI-written plain-English summary on every news headline (the differentiator ā tells you what each headline actually means for an investor, not finance-speak)
ā Side-by-side ticker comparison pages with auto-written analysis
ā A "what if you'd invested $1,000 5 years ago" calculator on every stock page
ā Watchlist, price alerts, earnings calendar
ā Plain-English learn articles (P/E ratios, reading charts) with more shipping weekly
Free, no paywall, no signup required to try it.
Three asks if you have 90 seconds:
1. Try it and tell me what's missing
2. Bug reports especially welcome (mobile too ā there are rough edges I know about)
3. If you've used Yahoo Finance / TradingView and bounced, tell me what went wrong
This is day one of a long compounding project. Thanks for taking a look.
