Hi everyone, I’m Sritanu, the founder of StemOverflow.

A correct answer can hide very different levels of understanding. Someone may have recognized a familiar pattern, tested a few examples, or found an argument that explains every case.

Those learners need different next steps.

I’m building StemOverflow around that idea: start with the learner’s attempt and respond to the reasoning behind it.

It’s an AI coaching workspace for mathematics, physics and algorithmic reasoning, inspired by soviet & hungarian math circles and Olympiad problem-solving.

The current product offers AI coaching across math, physics and algorithmic problems. You can discuss an approach, ask for a hint or explanation, and return to your saved conversations and notes.

There’s also a coached math problem you can try without creating an account.

This is an early version. I’m particularly interested in three things:

• Did the coach understand what you were trying to say?
• Did it offer useful guidance, give away too much, or leave you stuck?
• What would make you choose to practice here again?
