My own menu bar was the reason I built StatusPerch: too many useful little tools, but not enough room. I wanted something simple that didn't need broad permissions or a separate interface. StatusPerch adds a movable boundary to the menu bar. Hold Command to place compatible icons to its left, then hide or reveal the group with one click. You can also auto-hide after 5, 10, or 30 seconds and start at login. A few honest notes for version 1.0: some third-party icons don't support Command-drag, there's no second menu bar, and the current build is ad-hoc signed rather than notarized. On first launch, move it to Applications, Control-click it, and choose Open once. It's free, runs locally, has no account or analytics, and the core feature doesn't need Screen Recording or Accessibility access.
