SQL Rig is a pack of 47 files for using Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot on SQL Server: prompts and rules, plus tested T-SQL and PowerShell for Agent jobs, linked servers, stored procedures, diagnostics, and permissions. Writes default to @DryRun = 1, PowerShell supports -WhatIf, and nothing drops silently. Tested on SQL Server 2025, 2019+ baseline. 14 files free under MIT.

Hi, I'm Scott. I built SQL Rig because AI coding agents are useful on SQL Server but keep making the same mistakes.
Ask one for an ETL job and it often suggests SSIS or a one-off script instead of SQL Server Agent, linked servers, and stored procedures. Generated T-SQL tends to skip XACT_ABORT and TRY/CATCH, run unbatched deletes, or drop things without asking. And every chat starts from zero, so you re-explain your conventions each time.
SQL Rig is 47 files that fix that. There are system prompts and rules for Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot, task prompts for things like diagnosing blocking or writing an Agent job, and reference T-SQL and PowerShell scripts the agent can work from. Each script has a header with purpose, compatibility, required permissions, and a rollback note.
The guardrails are the point. T-SQL that writes defaults to @DryRun = 1. PowerShell supports -WhatIf. There are no silent DROPs; destructive actions need explicit opt-in. With the rules in place, the agent stops suggesting SSIS.
Everything is tested on SQL Server 2025 with a 2019+ baseline. Current version is 1.0.1.
You can try 14 of the files free under MIT at sqlrig.com/free or on GitHub. The full pack is $49, updates included.
I'd like to hear what SQL Server tasks your agent still gets wrong.
