SpotifyLyrics is a lightweight macOS menu bar app that puts synced lyrics on top of Spotify as a polished, always-available overlay. It feels like karaoke mode for your desktop: live scrolling, word-level fill, translations, romanization, music controls, shareable lyric cards, and a tiny subtitle mode when you want your screen back.

How does it handle songs that don't have synced lyrics in Spotify's catalog, does it fall back somewhere or just show nothing?
@cihan8qim Thanks for asking! The lyrics don’t come from Spotify’s catalog directly. SpotifyLyrics uses https://lrclib.net as the lyrics source. As far as my testing, LRCLIB has a more complete catalog, so it can often display lyrics even when Spotify itself doesn’t.
If synced lyrics are available there, the app will show them with live timing. If nothing is found, it simply shows a “lyrics not found” state instead of guessing from another source.
does it pull lyrics from Spotify's own catalog or scrape from somewhere like Genius, and how does it handle songs that just don't have synced lyrics available?
Finally gave this a spin and the word-level karaoke scrolling feels weirdly addictive, especially on slower tracks. The tiny subtitle mode is a nice touch when I just want the lyrics without a full overlay.
the word-level fill on the overlay actually makes it feel like karaoke without feeling cluttered, which i didn't expect. nice touch with the tiny subtitle mode too.
