SpecsRelay captures supported AI web conversations, organizes them into reviewed development requirements using your own API provider, and hands the confirmed task to the local coding agent you choose.
Hi Product Hunt — I built SpecsRelay because the model I use to reason through a requirement is often not the coding agent I want to execute it.
Today, copying a long AI conversation into another tool can lose decisions, code blocks, open questions, or project context. SpecsRelay creates a deliberate handoff:
1. Capture a supported AI web conversation only when you click.
2. Organize it into a structured development task with your own API provider.
3. Review the summary, open questions, project directory, target agent, and exact prompt.
4. Confirm before SpecsRelay opens the local coding agent with the task prefilled.
SpecsRelay is local-first: captured data and settings are stored in Chrome, there is no SpecsRelay relay server, and your API key is not sent to the coding agent. It does not auto-run the task — you stay in control of the final handoff.
The Chrome extension is live now. The source isn't public yet; open sourcing is planned for a later stage.
I’d especially love feedback on the review step, supported Chatbot/Agent combinations, and what would make the handoff more reliable in your workflow.
