A match score is really helpful for quick decisions. One thing that would seal the deal for me is live lift status and trail opening info, since nothing kills a weekend faster than arriving to find the main lifts are closed for wind.
100% on the roadmap — lift status per run is the obvious next data layer. The blocker right now is sourcing reliable real-time lift data at scale across 775 resorts (most don't publish a structured feed). Working on scraping resort status pages + a few data partnerships. Wind closures especially are brutal to miss — will make sure that's front and center when it lands. Thanks for the nudge, it's exactly the kind of feedback that shapes the priority queue! 🙏
The app returns resorts that are closed, which IMO doesn't really make sense.
Also some filter UI element overlap
Thanks for the screenshot — that's a real bug. The filter chips are overflowing on certain screen widths and stacking over the results. Already flagged it and pushing a fix today. 🛠️
Fix is now live! 🎉 Just shipped a patch that resolves the z-index stacking on mobile — the filter chips were overlapping the results, the Apply button was hidden under the tab bar, and the city picker had a positioning issue on font-scaled devices. Fair point! Since we're launching in July, every resort is technically closed for the summer — so right now "closed" is the default state for all 775 of them. The "Open only" toggle in the filter bar lets you hide them, but it's not prominent enough. I'm making it default to "Open only" automatically once the ski season starts (November). Will also add a clearer off-season notice so it's obvious this is a planning tool for the upcoming season, not a live winter dashboard. Appreciate the feedback! 🙏

I built SnowTriper because I was tired of ending up at resorts with 30cm of wet, crusty snow when there was 150cm of powder 2 hours away — I just didn't know about it.
**The problem**: Planning a ski trip across 775+ resorts worldwide is overwhelming. How do you know which resort has real snow right now, is within 3 hours of driving, and won't be packed with school holiday crowds? You don't — without spending 2 hours Googling.
**What SnowTriper does**: Pulls live snow depth from Open-Meteo (updated hourly) for 775 resorts across 16 countries, computes real driving times from your city, scores each resort by snow + weather + distance, and displays everything on an interactive 3D terrain map.
**What I'm most proud of**:
- **Match score** — each resort gets a 0–100% score with a visible breakdown (snow ★★★★☆, weather ★★★☆☆, distance ★★★★★). No black-box recommendations.
- **Circuit optimizer** — plan a multi-resort ski trip: pick your city + up to 5 resorts, and the app finds the optimal driving order with total time, cost, and snow scores.
- **Crowd forecast** — 14-day crowd prediction based on school holiday calendars across 7 countries (FR/CH/AT/BE/UK/NL/DE). Know which weekends to avoid before you book.
- **Perfect window alerts** — the homepage shows the top 5 upcoming powder windows across all resorts. One glance, best moment to go.
- **Value score** — ranks resorts by €/km of piste (lift pass + fuel ÷ ski area). Real value, not just snow depth.
- **Live GPS ski tracker** — once you're on the mountain, the app overlays your real-time GPS position on the actual piste map. Track your run, speed, vertical drop. This one's a banger on mobile. 🏔️
