Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Leo, a solution architect from Vietnam, and SnakePress is my weekend project that became my daily tool.
Why I built it
I write a lot of docs and support tickets. Every day I take dozens of screenshots, add arrows and numbered steps, and record short "click here, then here" videos. The tools I used were either paid, heavy, cloud-first, or needed three apps for one job. I wanted one small Windows app that does it all and keeps my files on my PC.
What it does
• PrtSc → select a region → annotate: arrows, numbered steps, text, blur/pixelate, highlight, magnifier
• OCR: grab text from any part of the screen in one click
• Screen recorder: full screen, window or region, mic + system sound, webcam bubble with background blur/replace (runs on-device)
• Auto zoom follows your clicks and cursor — tutorials look hand-edited, no editing
• Video Maker & Quick Edit: trim, join, music, text, and auto subtitles with offline Whisper — no upload
• Tray workspace with all your captures + right-click "Open with SnakePress"
Pricing
Free. There's an optional one-time Supporter License (from $3) that removes the small video watermark and keeps the project going.
🎁 Product Hunt community: use code PH_50_OFF for 50% off the Supporter License this week.
What I'd love your feedback on
What's the ONE thing that would make you switch from your current screenshot/recording tool? macOS and Linux are on the roadmap — tell me which you need first.
Thanks for checking it out 🐍
