SmartReply is a system keyboard for iPhone and iPad that drafts your reply. Copy the message you're answering, or pick a screenshot — the text is read on your device — and you get up to five one-sentence replies you can send as they are. Tell it who you're talking to and the tone, and that steers the result. No account. No message history stored. Screenshots are OCR'd on-device, so the image never leaves your phone. Free daily AI replies and image scans. iPhone and iPad, one app.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Guoqiang, a solo developer. I built SmartReply because of one very specific
annoyance.
Someone sends you a message. You read it. You know exactly what you mean. And then
you sit there for twenty seconds trying to turn it into a sentence that sounds
right. That gap between knowing what you mean and having the words is what this
app is about.
So the shape of the product is deliberately small. It's a keyboard, not a writing
app. You copy the message — or pick a screenshot — and it hands you up to five
one-sentence replies you can send as-is. No document, no paragraph, no editing
before you hit send. That last part was the whole design brief, and it turned out
to be the hardest one to hit, because every model wants to write you an essay.
Two things I want to be upfront about:
The privacy decision. Screenshots are OCR'd on the device with Apple's Vision
framework and downscaled; when you tap to analyze one, the text and the downscaled
screenshot go to the AI so it can catch what the text alone misses. There's
no account and no message history. And the privacy policy names the AI provider
instead of hiding behind "third-party partners", because I think that phrase is
used to avoid saying something you'd rather not say.
The pricing. The AI calls cost me real money per request and there's nothing
subsidising it — no ads, no data business. So there's a free tier (daily AI replies
and image scans, unlimited in time) and a subscription that raises the limits. I'm
funding this myself, and I'd rather say that plainly than pretend the paid tier
doesn't exist.
I'd love feedback on the keyboard interaction specifically — that's the part I've
stared at too long to judge anymore. And if there's a situation where the
suggestions come out wrong, tell me what you were answering; that's the feedback
I can actually act on.
Thanks for looking.
