SMAPP all started because my wife's little sister wanted to join social media, but my wife and her family weren't comfortable with that because she's so young and social media is inherently a dangerous place. We started remenescing about the old days of social media where there was no stress, no algorithm, nothing to prove, simply you, your friends, and your posts. So that is what we set out to create.
SMAPP is designed to be the modern, simplified version of social media. There are no targeted ads in SMAPP, and your data is not collected or sold to anyone. The business model works by hosting a daily sponsor, selected via a bidding system. Companies, organizations, or people can create a sponsorship and place a bid for any day of the year. If their bid wins that day, then their sponsorship is shown to every SMAPP user for the whole day. There is no localized or data-based targeting, just one sponsorship shown to everyone, maximum exposure.
SMAPP also does not include a content algorithm or any suggested content. All SMAPP accounts are private, so there is no suggested content to see. Your feed is only made up of posts from people that you are friends with, in chronological order.
