Skyvo puts the live UV index and air quality on one screen, so you can answer one question before you open the door: is outside a good idea right now? Burn time for your skin type, hourly and 7-day forecasts, iOS and Android widgets, one morning summary. Free, no ads.
š Hey Product Hunt! I'm Adrian, an indie dev who built Skyvo because I kept
checking two apps before going outside, one for whether I'd burn and one for
whether the air was any good, and neither of them actually answered the question
I had.
The Problem
Sun and air both decide whether outside is a good idea right now, but nothing
treats them as one decision. UV apps ignore pollution. Air quality apps ignore
the sun. Weather apps bury both under rain percentages and a five-day strip.
So you end up guessing, or you check nothing and get a sunburn on a cloudy day.
What Skyvo Does
āļø UV and Air, Side by Side: The live UV index and the air quality index on one
screen, for your exact location or any city you follow. One glance, one answer.
ā±ļø Burn Time for Your Skin: "High UV" is not actionable. Skyvo turns it into
"unprotected skin may burn in about 25 minutes" using your own skin type, plus a
sun window showing the hours actually worth avoiding.
š¬ļø Air You Can Act On: PM2.5, PM10, ozone, NO2, SO2 and carbon monoxide broken
out clearly, so you can watch wildfire smoke and pollution spikes build through
the day. Read it as US EPA AQI or EU EAQI, your choice.
š Alerts You Set: Pick a UV threshold and get told when it crosses, plus one short
briefing each morning with the day's peak and the air outlook. Every alert is built
on your device from your latest forecast, so it works offline.
š Quiet by Design: That is the whole notification list. No engagement pings, no ten
alerts a day. Home screen widgets on iOS mean most days you never open the app at all.
š Private: No account, no sign-up, no tracking. Your locations stay on your device.
Why It's Different
Most apps in this space are single-purpose, ad-supported, or built for air quality
nerds who want a dashboard. Skyvo is built for the thirty seconds before you leave
the house. It picks the two numbers that change your plans, explains them in plain
words, and then gets out of the way.
Free on iPhone and Android, no ads.
I'm improving Skyvo based on your feedback. What would you want it to tell you
before you head out?
