SiteToMD converts any web page to clean Markdown on Android. Tap share, get amd file. On-device, private, Obsidian-ready.

I built SiteToMD because the mobile web clipping workflow has been broken for a long time — and got worse when Pocket and Omnivore both shut down.
The specific problem: the Obsidian Web Clipper is great on desktop, but on Android there's no clean way to share an article from a news app, Reddit, or anywhere else and have it land in your vault as actual readable Markdown. You get a link at best.
So I built an Android app that sits in the share sheet and handles it properly — loads the page in a local browser, runs it through Mozilla Readability (same library Firefox uses for reader mode), converts with Turndown, and saves a .md file with YAML front-matter already filled in. The whole thing runs on-device. No account, no server, no service that can get shut down.
I'm an independent developer based in Okotoks, Alberta. SiteToMD is currently in beta on the Play Store — if you're an Android user who lives in Markdown, I'd love your feedback. Happy to answer any questions below.
