I built Shotgun for my own kids.

How it works: one phone starts a game and the others join with a code. The phone reads each question aloud, a light comes on, and whoever knows says it. The phone hears the answer and scores it in a second or two. Nobody has to read a screen in a moving car, which is the point.

What's in it today:

Nine games: quick quiz, riddles, True or False, Odd One Out, Higher or Lower, Quick Maths, Finish the Phrase, and two word-chain games
Questions sized to each player, so a 6-year-old and a teenager play together
One phone can play for the whole car, taking turns
No account, no sign-up, no ads. The mic listens only while a question is open and nothing is recorded

It's on the App Store and, since this week, Google Play. 30 minutes to try, then $34.99 a year for a sedan (5 players), $49.99 for a van (8), or a $9.99 pass for a single road-trip day.
