Hi Product Hunt! I'm the developer behind ShiYou China. The idea is to connect a poem with the place and the life behind it.
Start with a place on the map, read a related classical work, then explore its cultural travel guide. Author journeys connect 30 writers with 138 selected stops and related readings. Home Screen widgets pair AI-generated illustrations with selected Chinese lines: shuffle discoveries or pin a favorite.
The interface supports Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. The classical texts are in Chinese. Gallery images are labeled development previews with the Chinese interface.
The app is free to download and core browsing does not require login. The Learning Module has a 3-day free trial followed by an optional one-time permanent unlock (currently US$6.99 in the US App Store; local prices vary), not a subscription. Requires an iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
