shindan offers 7 free Japanese personality/psychology quizzes (deep-psychology, toxic-parent, 16-type, psychopath, menhera, mental-age, animal) across 64 result types. About 3 minutes each, no signup, and every scoring method is published openly.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm the maker of shindan.
I built shindan because most personality tests online either paywall the report after two questions, or copy the same 16-type framework without explaining what they measure. shindan is 7 free, self-contained quizzes for a Japanese audience: a deep-psychology test, a toxic-parent-pattern reflection, a 16-type personality test (the same 4 axes as MBTI, in plain language), a psychopathy-trait screener, an emotional-dependency ("menhera") test, a mental-age test, and an animal-personality test — together mapping to 64 result types.
Each quiz takes about 3 minutes, needs no signup or email, and the scoring logic is published on the page — nothing is a black box. None of these are clinical instruments; the toxic-parent and psychopathy tests are framed as self-reflection, not diagnosis, and I've tried to be careful with that line.
The audience is Japan's active personality-test / MBTI culture — people who take these for fun, for self-understanding, or to compare results with friends. The site is Japanese-only for now, so this launch is mainly about the format and approach rather than something most of you will use daily.
It's an early, single-person project — no accounts, no ads, nothing paid yet. I'd love feedback on the format, on where "fun test" should stop short of a real psychological claim, and on a fair monetization model. Thanks for taking a look.
