For years, I tried to convince my girlfriend to get involved in investing or the stock market. Her answers were always "The current products are too complicated" or "I don't understand it". Having been an active day trader myself, I knew how overwhelming it might have seemed to get one's feet wet in the whole world of investing. It then dawned on me that if I could somehow find a way to combine investing with an activity that she was already involved with, the whole idea may not seem so daunting after all. The beauty about this approach was that she would have the option of investing in companies (through ETFs) that she was already interacting with constantly on her phone.
