A browser-first internal service gateway. One binary, one command — SSH, remote desktop, database admin, web apps — all in your browser via HTML5. No VPN. No client install. No complex setup. shield ssh 10.0.0.5 → terminal in browser shield rdp 10.0.0.5 → Windows desktop in browser shield mysql 10.0.0.20 → DB admin in browser Unlike ngrok/frp, it renders everything in the browser. Unlike Teleport, it's one binary, one command. Open source. Cross-platform. Plugin-extensible.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm a solo developer, and I built Shield CLI to solve a problem I hit every day: accessing internal services remotely always meant juggling VPN configs, SSH clients, RDP viewers, and database tools.
I wanted one command that opens everything in the browser — no client installs, no complex setup.
The idea is simple:
shield ssh 10.0.0.5 → browser terminal
shield rdp 10.0.0.5 → browser remote desktop
shield mysql 10.0.0.20 → browser database admin
Under the hood, it uses WebSocket tunnels and HTML5 rendering (xterm.js for SSH, Apache Guacamole protocol for RDP/VNC) — so the browser is your only client.
It's fully open source (Apache 2.0), and I'd love your feedback. What protocols or integrations would you want to see next?
