I built SeDQL because I got tired of manually explaining my database schema every time I wanted to use it with an AI. It's a small tool that does one thing: reads your database and exports a JSON file that explains what each table and column means in business language. It works for me, but it's early. The query templates are limited. The PII detection is just regex. There are edge cases I haven't found yet. There are bigger tools that do more, WrenAI and Vanna are great, but this one just does the local export part, no cloud, no API keys. That's the point of open source: I'm sharing it early, hoping others find it useful, run into the rough edges, and help smooth them out. If you try it and it breaks or mislabels something, open an issue or fix it and send a PR. The goal is to make it genuinely useful, not to pretend it's finished.
