Who inspired it / the origin:
We ran a staffing business ourselves. Every day meant drowning in CVs, chasing candidates who misled us on notice or were never serious, and losing hours before anyone worth interviewing reached the table. We built Scryyn to fix the exact pain we lived — screening, not sourcing.
What problem it solves:
First-round hiring screening is slow, manual, and inconsistent. Recruiters read hundreds of CVs, most never a fit; AI-tailored resumes make a Mahindra look like an Audi; candidates ghost. Scryyn scores every CV against the actual role (checking real project experience, not keywords), screens candidates over WhatsApp where they actually reply, and captures a short video answer — so teams reach an interview-ready shortlist in hours, not days. It's a junior recruiter for the grunt work, freeing humans for the part that matters: candidate experience and closing.
How the approach evolved during the launch/build:
We started thinking Scryyn was a set of features — a scorer, a video tool. Building it taught us the real value is the connected workflow: CV to shortlist as one flow, run on WhatsApp, built for how India actually hires. We also learned to be honest about scope — it solves screening, not sourcing — and that completion depends on how attractive the role is, not just the tech. The product got sharper by narrowing, not adding.

The 1 in 500 hook is genuinely sharp and the name Scryyn has a nice futuristic feel without being pretentious. Love how the whole pitch focuses on speed without overloading on buzzwords.
