Most transcript tools just copy captions, so they fail on the videos that don't have any. Scriber uses captions when they exist and transcribes the audio when they don't. Paste a link, get clean, copy-ready text in seconds. No sign-up to try.
Being able to grab transcripts without signing up is huge, will definitely use this. One thing that would make it even better is the option to export directly to a .txt or .srt file with timestamps, since I often need the timing for editing clips or quoting specific moments in articles.

There's an Export button next to Copy with three options: plain text, markdown, and subtitles (.srt). The .srt carries proper start and end timecodes, so it should drop straight into an editor for clip work. For the .txt, turn on the Timestamps toggle first and they'll be included in the export.
That last part was genuinely unclear, and your comment is what made me notice: the export menu now says whether timestamps are included instead of leaving you to find out after downloading.
If you were looking for it earlier and couldn't see it, tell me. That'd mean the button still isn't obvious enough, which is useful to know.
Tried it on an old live stream with no captions and it actually pulled a clean transcript in seconds, which is the exact thing every other tool I've used chokes on. The no-signup thing is a nice touch too.
@sudenuruhxn Thanks Sudenur. Old live streams might be the worst case of all: long, almost never captioned, and nobody ever goes back to add them afterwards. Good to hear it came back clean.
The no-signup thing was deliberate. Getting a transcript is rarely the actual goal, it's a step on the way to something else, so making people create an account first felt like the wrong trade.
Curious, since a few people have mentioned long recordings: was that a full stream or a clip? Long ones are where I'd most expect quality to drop off, so it's useful to know what you threw at it.
Tried it on an old podcast episode that has no captions and it pulled clean paragraphs in a few seconds, way better than running it through a separate speech tool. No signup was a nice touch too.
Love how it doesn't force a sign-up just to grab a transcript, and the fallback to actual audio transcription when captions are missing is genuinely useful for niche creators.
@murathyzm Thanks Murat. Niche creators are exactly who I had in mind. The videos that never get captioned are almost always the smaller channels, and they're the ones every caption-copying tool quietly fails on.
The no-signup part was a deliberate trade too. Getting a transcript is rarely the goal in itself, so putting an account in front of it felt like charging a toll on the way to somewhere else.
