Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Moisés, the maker of SaySynq.
The idea came from church. Many of the services I attend have people from different countries in the room: immigrants, refugees, students, visitors. Most of them sit through an entire sermon without understanding it. Interpreters aren't always available, and translation equipment (booths, receivers, technicians) costs thousands, which is out of reach for most churches, schools and small events.
So I built SaySynq: live captions and translation on each person's own phone.
How it works:
🎤 The speaker talks normally. The organiser connects the room's audio (mixing desk or a USB mic) to a computer and opens the console in the browser.
📱 The audience scans a QR code. No app, no account. Everyone picks their language.
⚡ Captions appear in about a second, in 9 languages (EN, PT, ES, FR, DE, IT, UK, AR, ZH).
🎧 They can also listen to the translation with natural voice through their earphones.
📺 Captions can go on the projector or over a livestream via OBS.
How it evolved: my first test was a full 100-minute church service with 4 people following in other languages, and their reaction was what convinced me to launch. Along the way I added the things real events needed: the same QR code every week, saved sessions with transcripts, a glossary for names and technical terms, and auto-recovery if the connection drops.
It's not only for churches. It works for conferences, classes, workshops and company meetings.
There's a free plan (30 min/month, no card) so you can try it in a real room today.
I'd love your honest feedback: what kind of event would you use it for, and what's missing? 🙏
