This is awesome! Such a great initiative for helping local businesses. Local businesses are struggling, and it's awesome to see tech being used in an impactful way in this scary time.
@watthemehak Thank you! Since we launched we've received so many very humbling stories and positive feedback from some of our local favorites. This is how we come together as community. #supportlocal

This is such a great website! I have a few friends in the industry and they are being hit hard. I've been playing around with the website and here's some feedback:
1. The contact us button on the home page isn't working for me when I click on it. I'm on a Mac using High Sierra OS using the Chrome browser.
2. I'd recommend shortening the copy on the search page. Also it says it that copy "If they’re temporarily closed, you can send love by requesting them to open! They probably miss you too 🥺" which makes me think that I can someone send a notification through this platform to ask them to open. Also, doesn't seem the emoji is coming through.
3. I also read that I could help add restaurants or mark them as open if I know they are still in business but I don't see how or where I can do that really.
4. Also, it's my understanding that it's always better to order from the restaurant directly (especially for pick-up) because then they get all of the profits for the sale instead of having to share a percentage with GrubHub, PostMates, etc. so that may be worth noting somewhere.
5. The search is a bit confusing so I find myself just dragging the map around and hovering over the markers which is okay if I want to spend time exploring and clicking into each option and seeing what kind of food they are offering. But if I am coming there to see if a specific restaurant is open it's not the best route.
6. When I did use the search, I typed in "tacos" and got nothing. Then I tried "mexican" and I got some results. But then I typed in Nopalito (which is on the map with a marker) but I didn't get anything. I see that it has some type ahead but the recommendations are inconsistent and I can't tell if I can search by restaurant name, type of cuisine, or if I need to be putting in a specific address.
That's all I have for now! Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
@megsraye Thank you for your rigorous feedback. The website is work in progress, and feedback like this help us keep motivated and focus on areas of most impact. So if you have any more in the future, please let us know. The contact us should be working now, it was a known bug 🐛
1. It should be fixed now, let us know if you try it and it's still broken.
2. You're right, if you see a restaurant is closed, you can click the "Request to Open" button. We have the contact info for many of the restaurant owners/managers, we're going to keep them up to date on how much demand there is.
3. Currently the user input is limited to voting OPEN/CLOSED for the restaurants that are marked as UNKNOWN. We're working on better tools for the community to provide input.
4. Great point, thanks!
5. Search is a complicated thing to implement, and ours is currently very basic. Making it better is definitely high on our list.
6. I think there might be a bug on the type ahead - tacos should have resulted in some results as well as the restaurant name -- although typing a restaurant name just shows that restaurant on the map as a single pin, rather than taking you to their page. This is a feature we want to implement very soon.

This is incredible! I could have used this yesterday when I was looking for restaurants that normally don't deliver. Would be awesome to see the ones that aren't on delivery apps.
@shri_bear_ganeshram Thank you! Like you said, some restaurants started to offer delivery on their own, not through the delivery apps. If restaurants have that option, we show that as well.

Amazing, thanks for building this!! How is the information kept up to date?
@nishant_bhat Thank you for your support! We worked directly with businesses to aggregate this data -- and they have admin access to update and change anything when needed. The update process for them is designed to be seamless. Chefs don't want to spend time creating accounts and clicking through a ton of confusing buttons... they want to be creating delicious meals!
@anthony_ma We've been focused on SF in the past week since inception, but we have partners in some of the major cities and are looking to launch NYC, LA, and Boston in the next few days!
