I’m building Sara because I wanted an assistant that remembers our work and can help with actual development, while letting me choose where it runs and which model it uses.
Sara combines a customizable companion, editable memory, planning and document reading with coding workspaces, Git and tests. It is MIT licensed and supports local or cloud models. The server and model are yours to configure; cloud providers may charge separately.
I’m looking for developers to try a fresh installation and share what breaks: setup, smaller local models, coding reliability, and security or privacy concerns. Bug reports and contributions are welcome on GitHub.
I’m developing it with Claude, with Codex also contributing to computer-use features. This launch copy was prepared with AI assistance. Please test coding and automation in a disposable workspace first.
