Hi Product Hunt 👋 I've walked into the same lamppost twice. Different years, same lamppost. The second time there was an audience. SafeWalk Mirror is what came out of that. It puts a small live camera window on top of whatever app you're using, so the path in front of you stays visible while you're looking down at your phone. Your screen is effectively see-through in the corner of your eye. On-device detection watches the path and escalates sound and vibration as something gets closer — green, amber, red. Three decisions I made early and want to be held to: → No subscription. The floating window is free forever, the detection is a single one-time purchase. I know what subscriptions do to revenue. I didn't want to build that app. → No account, no analytics, no internet. Camera frames are processed in memory and discarded. The app runs in airplane mode. The "no data collected" badge on Play is verified, not claimed. → No pretending. It cannot see kerbs, stairs, or anything outside the camera's view, and detection misses things. The app makes you read and accept that before it will run, keeps a permanent notification with one-tap stop, and chimes at you to look up. The safest thing is still to stop walking. This is for every other moment. Built solo in Flutter, no funding, no team. What I'd really like from this launch: tell me where the honesty section doesn't go far enough, and tell me whether the "see-through phone" framing lands or whether it needs a different word.
