I ended last year building my supposed first SaaS - xBodyGoals.com - But that I never got around to finishing because I lost interest in the project. To be fair, I didn’t start it with the right reasons in mind to begin with. I wanted to build something quick to ride off the “New year new me” trends of January, but since I was unable to finish, I saw clearly that I had no plan to market and keep the business alive throughout other times of the year. This got me thinking about passion and goals and I've settled on building the SaaS Marketing Journal (saasmarketingjournal.com), a newsletter for people interested in SaaS Marketing. You would think this was the end of my rookie mistakes, but no. I started out building the home page. Then an admin dashboard to send emails, manage subscribers and manage previously sent emails. After 3 days of tweaking and over emphasizing on unnecessary details, I’ve managed to stop myself. Just when I was a couple hours to the finish line, I just settled on using Substack. Account setup in minutes. And a few more later, I published my first post. Just ship. You can make it perfect later.
