Your tablet stays in portrait even after a YouTube video goes fullscreen? For people who read and browse with an Android tablet upright, RoteCat can switch supported fullscreen video playback to landscape and restore the previous rotation settings when you exit.
We are the team behind RoteCat. To try it, open the app, enable Video Auto-Rotation and grant the accessibility service and system-settings permissions required for the feature. Then open a supported YouTube video and enter fullscreen. Shorts are excluded. Supported playback includes the YouTube app and supported web playback in Chrome, Brave and Samsung Internet; not every embedded player or in-app browser works, and behavior varies by device and Android version.
For other moments, use the rotation bubble, Quick Settings tile, notification controls or a preferred orientation for individual apps. The bubble needs permission to display over other apps. Enable only the features and permissions you need.
RoteCat is free to install and includes ads. An optional one-time purchase removes ads within RoteCat; it does not remove YouTube ads. This is an independent utility, not an official YouTube product.
