I built this before a 1-week vacation because my biggest worry was watering my backyard plants in summer. It uses ESP32, MQTT, backend, and an Android app to turn watering on/off, see live status, and manage schedules. I shared it on Reddit and it got a good number of upvotes, so I’m launching it here to get feedback and see if others find it useful too or what they think of this as a product.

Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Shiv, the electronic enthusiast made Smart Irrigation Controller.
I built this to solve my own vacation problem: watering backyard plants while I’m away.
I shared it on Reddit and got a good response, so I’m launching it here too. Would love your feedback on the idea, landing page, and whether this feels useful.
One thing I’m trying to figure out: if this solved the problem for you reliably, what would feel like a fair price?
A) Under $30 B) $30-$50 C) $50-$70 D) $70+ E) I wouldn’t pay for this

The fact that you actually built and used this on your own plants before launching says a lot. Love that the Android app shows live status alongside the schedule controls, exactly what I'd want when I'm away from home.

@arinjtfp Thanks, really appreciate that. Yeah, I wanted something I could actually trust while away. Live status helps confirm the device is running and watering happened.

Love that you actually shipped something to solve your own problem rather than just talking about it. The live status in the app is a nice touch too, takes the guessing out of whether the plants got watered.

@anastasiae6728 Thanks, really appreciate that. Live status is useful for knowing whether watering actually happened and if your device is up and running. The schedule can still run offline too.
